The danger of this stereotype of “real” writers

There is a stereotype of “real” writers where they must be troubled souls who’ve been through so much in order to write these great pieces. But that doesn’t have to be the case. There isn’t a requirement of being a successful writer where you have to have a problematic life. You do not have to over come your personal struggles completely to be an amazing author either! You don’t have to be a troubled person to write beautifully. In my experience, when I was in the height of my depression, I could not have written or held myself to a higher standard. Writing forces you to spend a lot of time in your own brain, and that bring up issues, but remember that you have the control. You are able to process things in your life at your pace, and there’s no list of life requirements before you can create anything and put it out into the world.
