I’ve been exactly where you are.
You’ve always wanted to write a novel. Or, maybe you want to finish that half-written manuscript idling on your desktop. Maybe you want an editor to help you take your novel from good to great.
And yet…
The fear of other people’s opinions, of failure, of not doing it perfectly has you feeling stuck.
“What if I’m not a good writer?”
“What if I can’t finish my novel?”
“How can I let other people read my work?”
Real talk: You can keep yourself small and stay stuck in the mud of believing that your gifts aren't special. That the market is over-saturated. That it's impossible to get discovered in a landscape of wannabe writers. But you know what?
It's a lie.
Your writing voice, your creativity, your you-ness?
They’re the keys to your success.
Sound a little too motivational speaker-ish?
I used to think so, too. Until I realized that the key to fulfilling my creative dreams was not just talent or luck, but an unshakable mindset and the belief that I was worthy of my dreams.
my story
Before I jumped into the waters of writing and editing…
I floundered in a sea of doubt, impostor syndrome, & identity crisis.
That soul-crushing, hammer-to-the-chest, lying-awake-at-night feeling that you might relate to: "who am I?" syndrome.
WHO AM I TO WRITE A NOVEL?
WHO AM I TO SHARE MY WORDS WITH THE WORLD?
WHO AM I TO TRY AND MAKE MONEY DOING SOMETHING THAT SOCIETY TELLS ME IS ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE?
But that voice inside me wouldn't be silenced. I worked on my mindset & began taking my writing seriously.
My articles were published in places like Elephant Journal and Medium, and I published several short stories in online literary journals. And I signed with a literary agent at one of the oldest, most respected agencies in publishing.
At the same time, I noticed how many other writers were struggling with the same issues I’d struggled with and started helping others edit their manuscripts.
A lifelong reader who loves nothing more than curling up with a good book, I’m passionate about helping writers polish their work while honoring the authenticity of their voice.
