What happens after you sign with a literary agent?
Every author’s experience can be different.
First thing is you beginning the revision process and discussing possible changes. It might take a while depending on the revisions. Once the manuscript is in a good place, then the agent will decide if you are ready to go on submission. This is where the waiting comes in, and that is okay. The editor has to read the book and if they like it, they need to get acquisitions on the same page too. This is the part of the process I’m familiar with. The overall process takes time, and you must stay patient.
